Kyosi approached Novelty Hat back in 2016 to come up with a concept for her upcoming single, "Just Lines." Jon Conklin and myself had been experimenting with stop motion, and decided to base the video around the visual idea of manipulating time. We pitched the idea with a full visual treatment and the artist loved it.

The idea was to seamlessly integrate long exposure time lapse footage (which resulted in some beautiful lines) with real time and slow motion footage as well. Throw in a few choice psychedelic effects for flavor, and there you have it!

I enjoy revisiting it every so often; I still find the visuals captivating and hope to explore these techniques more in the future.
